2021-W $10 Mint Error 1/4 oz Gold Eagle Type 2 With W NGC MS70 Ron Harrigal Signed
The error is similar to the $5 and $10 Gold Eagles produced by the U.S. Mint in 1999, where unfinished proof dies were also used and coins were struck showing the W mint mark on a bullion/regular issue. It is currently unknown how many of the error coin were minted. All of the American Gold Eagle $10 quarter-ounce bullion coins mistakenly struck with an unfinished proof obverse die. Each coin is certified by NGC as MS70 and hand signed by Ron Harrigal the director of design and engraving. NGC's encapsulation protects the coin and guarantees the MS70 condition.
Bullion-strike American Eagle coinage does not bear the West Point Mint facility’s “W” mint mark. The Proof die used to strike the nearly 8,000 mules had not had laser frosting applied to its devices.
Coin Specifications:
