2013-W Silver Eagle West Point Set PCGS Reverse Proof PR70 & Enhanced MS70
2013-W Silver Eagle West Point Set PCGS Reverse Proof PR70 & Enhanced MS70
In celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the U.S. Mint at West Point the U.S. Mint offered this special two-coin set.
Included in this set:
* 2013-W American Silver Eagle Reverse Proof Certified PCGS PR70 Early Releases
The proof coin features a reverse proof finish. Reversing the mirror-like background finish of a traditional proof coin and applying it to the design elements of the coin achieves a magnificent contrast.
* 2013-W Enhanced American Silver Eagle Certified PCGS MS70 Enhanced Finish Early Releases
The uncirculated coin features enhancements that are unusual for an uncirculated coin. On the obverse, the mountains, the red stripes and blue parts of the United States flag, the year, and Liberty's sandals have an uncirculated finish. The remaining elements and lettering on the obverse have the heavy frosted finish. On the reverse, the ribbon in the eagle's beak, the arrows, and olive branch, the alternating stripes in the shield and the border around the shield have an uncirculated finish. The lettering and other design elements have the heavy frosted finish. The fields on both sides have the new light frosted finish. All these enhancements - unique to this American Silver Eagle Uncirculated coin - add sharp definition to the design.
The American Silver Eagle
The American Silver Eagle is the official silver bullion coin of the United States first released November 24, 1986. American Silver eagles are only struck in the one-troy ounce size, which has a face value of one dollar and is guaranteed to contain one troy ounce of 99.9% pure silver. The Silver American Eagle coins were minted at the San Francisco Mint from 1986 – 1992. From 1993 – 2000 the coins were minted in the Philadelphia Mint. In 2001 the Silver Eagle production moved to West Point where the minting is still done today. Adolph A. Weinman designed the obverse known as The Walking Liberty and John Mercanti designed the reverse.
It is for this reason the NGC Proof American Silver Eagles in perfect PF70 condition signed by John Mercanti are the most sought after and prized modern graded coins available in the market. If you are a collector of modern graded U.S. Mint coins in Perfect PF70, you owe it to yourself to add this premium NGC graded West Point Mint Mercanti Signed Silver Eagle coin to your collection today!
This beautiful American Silver Eagle was certified and graded by PCGS. The grade is PR70 (Proof 70 or Perfect 70) which means the coin is completely flawless. PCGS is a highly respected grading company and one of the largest in the United States.
