This 1870 3CN Three Cent Nickel has been certified and graded by PCGS as MS66+. PCGS’s encapsulation guarantees the coin's MS66+ Condition.
The three-cent nickel piece or also called the three-cent nickel, was designed by US Mint Chief Engraver James B. Longacre and struck by the US Mint from 1865 to 1889. The three-cent nickel was very popular until the five-cent nickel was introduced. Many were melted down to coin more five-cent pieces and Congress eventually abolished it.
